Understand the preview

Open Graph metadata gives sharing platforms a compact description of the page.

Common Open Graph values describe the title, description, image, URL, and object type a platform can use when someone shares a link. Different platforms crop, cache, and arrange those values differently, so any local preview is an approximation.

Write the card for someone who has not seen the page yet.

A useful title should make sense without the surrounding site navigation. The description should explain what the click leads to rather than repeating a generic site slogan. The selected image should remain understandable when cropped.

Use a public image URL when you publish.

Social crawlers need to be able to reach the image and page over the public web. A manual preview can help with composition, but it cannot verify whether the deployed metadata exists or whether the image is crawlable.

Use platform debuggers for a live caching problem.

If a published link shows an old title or image, confirm the live HTML first and then use the relevant platform debugger or cache refresh workflow. This Brandspire tool does not crawl or invalidate third-party caches.
